Are you tired of dieting?
Are you frustrated with gaining back any weight you’ve lost?
Are you afraid to go to a buffet because you might overeat?
Do you eat for all sorts of reasons, but not because you’re actually hungry?
Is eating no longer fun because of your food “addictions” or obsessions?
Do you wish you were more fit but you don’t find exercising fun?
Do you want to have a healthy relationship with food?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, maybe it’s time to try something new — not a new diet, not a new supplement, not a new fitness routine, but a new way of thinking. If you’re ready to change your attitude to Food and Fitness, I’m here to provide assistance with my book, my workbook, and my coaching services. The Yum Factor Book and Workbook are now being sold bundled together as a set (aka, two separate downloadable pdfs) at a discount price. Now you can use these two resources side by side. I’m a nutritionist and exercise physiologist who relies on a cognitive-behavioral approach to food and fitness. My coaching methods are client-centered, which means I’m very focused on having you take an active role in making changes for yourself, using the skills that I coach. Yes, it takes effort and practice, but, unlike what you may have tried already, it actually works. My clients have succeeded in taking the weight off, and keeping it off.
My book, The Yum Factor, that I co-authored with Lisa Natoli, documents the food and fitness program that I designed and that Lisa successfully followed. Going through the slim 11 chapters, you’ll read about Lisa’s journey as she learned to follow my cognitive-behavioral program to think differently, to become more aware of thoughts and the choices made each day, and to focus on self care so she could be the healthiest, fittest and strongest version of herself. At the end of each chapter, you’ll also find a sidebar with tips on how to put my recommendations into action.
This is not a new diet, nor a new fitness routine. It’s a new way of thinking. My program will guide you to learn skills that will help you make changes that last. But this takes work. This is not a magic program. It requires you to be committed to changing your mind, in essence, taming it, putting you back in the driver’s seat, so that you can live a joy-filled life.
My food and fitness coaching, like the book, revolves around this cognitive-behavioral program. The idea is to learn to find the motivation to enjoy eating healthfully and to live a vibrant, active life, full of play, wonder and curiosity.
The Yum Factor is also available as a PDF for immediate download (at a discounted price). Download the Yum Factor book here.
The Yum Factor Workbook allows you to practice and apply what you read in the book, teaching you how to listen to your body, determine what it needs and then love it in the best way possible. Finding your own personal Yum Factor is the first step toward living a vibrant life filled with joy.
Each chapter in the workbook asks you thoughtful questions to consider as well as offers assignments and suggestions of skills to practice and apply in your daily life. Like the book, the workbook is divided into three sections:
Food, that includes “Ditching the D-word” (D for diet), and being mindful when eating.
Fit that includes “Evicting the E-word” (E for exercise), since fitness should mean being naturally active.
Aware, where I review how to set reasonable goals, and spot the negative self-talk that we all regularly engage in.
Though it’s best to read the book first before moving onto the workbook, you’ll definitely benefit from either of them, even on their own.
